FAQ's

How do I set up an appointment?  You can call me at 303-817-8276, or send me an email to schedule an appointment.

Can I do online therapy? Yes, I can provide services via videoconference and can offer consultations by telephone. Due to COVID-19, I am currently providing all services via telehealth.

How do I know if you are the right provider for me? I offer a free initial consultation to determine if I am the right fit for you, or whether you might benefit more from a referral. This can be done in the office or by phone.

Do I need to have a diagnosis of autism? No. Some clients may have a diagnosis of autism level-1 (formerly called Asperger's syndrome, PDD-NOS, HFA), but others may have no diagnosis, or have a diagnosis of a related condition affecting social cognition, such as social communication disorder, non-verbal learning disorder, twice exceptionality (2E), ADHD, auditory processing disorder, or anxiety. Some clients may suspect a diagnosis of some kind, but either have not been assessed or have "traits" that are sub-threshold for diagnosis. Others may have no diagnosis at all, and yet be struggling with difficult social or professional situations that seem to repeat over time.

How much does an appointment cost? Rates are $130 for a 50-minute office session. Sessions are pro-rated according to length of session.

Do you take insurance? No, I do not take health insurance, but I do maintain limited sliding scale openings in my practice for individuals or families with significant financial need. I can also provide a “superbill” to submit to insurance as an out-of-network provider.

How often do we meet? This varies depending upon individual needs. Clients may range from two times a week to once every few months. Clients seeking therapy in the office typically begin on a weekly basis, and may transition to less frequent visits over time.

What if I miss or need to cancel my appointment? Cancellations made up to 24 hours prior to a scheduled appointment are not subject to a fee. If cancellations are made less than 24 hours before a scheduled appointment, barring emergency or illness, I will charge the regular session fee for the missed appointment.

How long will this process take? Anywhere from several weeks to several years, depending on your unique needs. My goal is to ensure that progress is ongoing and visible outside the therapy/coaching context. I will regularly check in and assess the situation with you to ensure your needs are being met. If they are not, alternative plans will be developed.
