FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I set up an appointment?  You can call me at 303-817-8276, or send me an email to schedule an appointment.

Can I do online therapy? I am currently providing all services via telehealth.

How do I know if you are the right provider for me? I offer a free initial phone consultation to determine if I am the right fit for you, or whether you might benefit more from a referral.

Do I need to have a diagnosis of autism? No. While I specialize in neurodiversity, no specific diagnosis is needed to engage in therapy. Many individuals come to me with a range of other diagnoses but who suspect underlying neurological differences. Others simply have challenges in areas such as social communication and relationships. I also welcome clients who do not identify as neurodiverse, and are seeking help to work through challenges with mood, life situations, or reprocessing past traumatic events.

How much does an appointment cost? Rates are $175 for a 50-minute office session. Sessions are pro-rated according to length of session.

Do you take insurance? No, I do not take health insurance, but I do maintain limited sliding scale openings in my practice for individuals or families with significant financial need. I can also provide a “superbill” to submit to insurance as an out-of-network provider. I am also a contracted provider with Imagine! Colorado and the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.

How often do we meet? This varies depending upon individual needs. Clients may range from two times a week to once every few months. Clients seeking therapy in the office typically begin on a weekly basis, and may transition to less frequent visits over time.

What if I miss or need to cancel my appointment?  Cancellations made up to 24 hours prior to a scheduled appointment are not subject to a fee. If cancellations are made less than 24 hours before a scheduled appointment, barring emergency or illness, I will charge the regular session fee for the missed appointment.

How long will this process take? Anywhere from several weeks to several years, depending on your unique needs. My goal is to ensure that progress is ongoing and visible outside the therapy context. I will regularly check in and assess the situation with you to ensure your needs are being met. If they are not, alternative plans will be developed.
